Customers who submit incentive applications to Union Gas within one week of installing eligible energy-efficient space heating equipment will receive a $200 bonus per unit. Eligible space heating equipment includes condensing boilers, high efficiency non-condensing boilers, energy and heat recovery ventilators (ERVs and HRVs), condensing make-up air units (MUAs) and destratification fans. This offer is not available to national account customers, and requires a fully completed application form with supporting documents to be eligible.

Air Curtains

Save energy even when the doors are open

Air curtain technology delivers a controlled stream of air that separates the indoor and outdoor environment. Air curtains reduce infiltration of cold or hot outside air through doorways, significantly reducing natural gas heating in winter and air conditioning in summer. They also prevent insects and dust from entering the indoor environment.

Air curtains are often used where doors stay open for long periods of time. Typical examples include shipping docks and retail or office entrances.

Air curtains provide tremendous benefits:

• Significantly lowers both heating and cooling costs compared to doors without air curtains
• Extends the life expectancy of existing heating and cooling equipment

Condensing Boilers

If you are replacing an aging boiler or building a new facility, installing a condensing boiler will improve your energy efficiencies and reduce your operating costs. Condensing boilers provide a number of key energy saving advantages:

Energy and Heat Recovery Ventilators

A fresh approach to reducing costs

The most efficient way to provide good indoor air quality is through either an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) or Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV). Both are able to provide fresh outdoor air while recovering the most energy possible from outgoing air.

The recovered energy can then be used to heat the air entering the building significantly reducing your energy costs and making the ventilation system operate more efficiently. Both types of ventilators are ideal for buildings that are sealed for energy saving purposes.

 

 

Destratification Fans

Destratification Fans are high volume, low speed fans ranging from 8 feet to 24 feet in diameter. They offer an inexpensive and efficient way to bring the heat down from the ceiling to mix with cooler floor temperature air, ensuring a consistent and comfortable environment where it is most needed.

These highly efficient fans can also work in conjunction with air-conditioned spaces, allowing for a higher temperature set point and lower cooling costs.

Condensing Gas Water Heater

Energy Star Dishwasher

A great way to rack up the savings

Commercial dishwashers that are rated as Energy Star reduce energy and water consumption and improve performance.

On average they are 25% more energy efficient and 25% more water efficient than standard models.

Models include under counter, door and conveyor type as well as rack-less conveyor – and all carry a range of energy saving benefits that include:

• Improved water filtration to remove food soils from wash water
• Increased efficiency of jets so that less energy is needed to spray detergent and water over dishes when cleaning
• Greater natural gas, water and electricity savings

Ozone Laundry

The natural way to save

The ozone laundry system is a piece of equipment added onto a new or existing commercial washing machine. Ozone laundry systems can be free standing or wall mounted units.

The added on system generates ozone, a naturally occurring molecule that helps clean and disinfect fabrics by chemically reacting with soils in the laundry. There are multiple methods used to achieve results which can vary by manufacturer.

Adding a properly designed, environmentally friendly ozone laundry system reduces the amount of chemicals, detergents and hot washing and drying times, saving even more on energy costs. With a non-invasive ozone laundry installation you can:

• Reduce hot water usage by as much as 85%, significantly reducing energy costs

Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation

Save up to $7,500 per year - your recipe for success

Traditionally ventilation systems have operated at one speed regardless of how hard the appliances are working. Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation systems respond to variations in stove use, allowing the two-speed or variable fans to regulate exhaust depending on how many burners are working. That means significant savings as well as other important benefits that include:

Energy Star Fryer

Adopt a new technology, or a technology not previously used with a market segment to save natural gas or improve energy efficiency.
